Description of projected use of results from the 2014-2015 academic year that is being addressed in the 2015 – 2016 academic year:
TARGETS 1-4: We planned on continuing to use the same targets as we did in previous year(s). First year teaching the music section of 4999 class; students previously were asked to present a research paper. This assignment did not address PSLO 1.

TARGETS 1-4: No changes or improvements were made. In the 2015-2016 academic year, 4999 students were required to prepare and perform their senior recital as a part of the Senior Thesis requirement to demonstrate creative work (PSLO 1) as well as prepare a research paper addressing issues in the arts. There were only two student recordings collected for this academic year.
Description of the expected use of results that will be addressed in the 2016-2017 academic year:
TARGETS 1-4: We will continue to use the same targets as we did this academic year. We will reconsider the targets in 2016-2017 if targets are met. If we see an exceptional change in performance we will reassess our targets in Spring 2016. In the 2016-2017 academic year, 4999 students will continue to use their senior recital to demonstrate creative work (PSLO 1), as well as submit a thesis on their recital materials (composer information, background information on the pieces performed, etc.). Students will also submit an artist portfolio. All performances given during the semester will be recorded and assessed.

Description of projected use of results from the 2014-2015 academic year that is being addressed in the 2015 – 2016 academic year:
On average students scored somewhat higher in the foundations class than in a lower division studio class this year. More opportunities for assessment are needed for this PSLO.
Description of any changes for improvements which were made during the course of the 2015-2016 academic year: Studio art classes are now being assessed under this PSLO.
Description of the expected use of results that will be addressed in the 2016-2017 academic year: We will be looking at potentially eliminating or changing this PSLO since we do not have many classes that can be assess under the current definition.

TARGET NOT MET

Fall 2015 enrollment is 144

Shortfall 6 students

This decrease may be due to previous years miscommunication with the Center for Academic Success around advising (freshmen and sophomores should be enrolled in lower level major classes).

Approximately 50 information cards were submitted.

OVERALL: TARGET NOT MET

Description of any changes for improvements which were made during the course of the 2015-2016 academic year: Each concentration resubmitted the four year plan and the grids to the Center for Academic Success.

Description of the expected use of results that will be addressed in the 2016-2017 academic year: Visual and Performing Arts students will be able to meet the VAPA faculty directly which will in turn help faculty have better opportunities for student retention. The program will create a Recruitment and Retention departmental committee.

We exceeded our targets by 50% adding two additional student dance performances

OVERALL: TARGET MET

Description of projected use of results from the 2014-2015 academic year that is being addressed in the 2015-2016 academic year: In spring of 2013 to spring of 2014 FINE 2999 had 32 students enrolled in one class offering. After implementing the changes, we had 54 students enroll spring of 2015 and 2016.

FINE 2909 was not on regular rotation before spring of 2015 and was not offered in either spring of 2013 or in 2014. Since the change the course has been offered in rotation twice in 2015 and 2016. Total enrollment was 56.

FINE 2104 was only offered once a year, and averaged 32 students a year. After the change we say a total of 45 students enroll in 2015-2016 with a Fall and Spring option.

Description of any changes for improvements which were made during the course of the 2015-2016 academic year: Better communication with CAS since four year grids are not being used. This can be observed in rising Junior course enrollment. We saw a decrease in enrollment from 160 in fall 2014 to 144 in fall 2015. We also experienced a devastating fire which displaced students and their classes.

Description of the expected use of results that will be addressed in the 2016-2017 academic year: The program will be providing more opportunities for student dancers enrolled in performance classes. We will edit four year grids to reflect the course change from a two semester sequence to a six semester increase.
